The AIMS Academy is much more than just a summer music course.
It is a top level academy with more than 16 years’ experience.
It provides an opportunity for you to meet other young talented musicians, and has faculty members drawn from the main European orchestras, and many international prestigious colleges.
It is an opportunity for you to meet your future teacher, to work hard for 12 days in a stimulating environment, and to live a unique experience with people from all over the world (over 20 nationalities on the latest course!).
The AIMS Festival concerts will offer you numerous opportunities to perform on a stage as a soloist, with the orchestra, or with your chamber group.
Students will arrive at Solsona by 15pm on August 8th. The closing concert will be held on the evening of the 19th, and the course will end on the morning of the 20th.

Each student will receive a minimum of four classes in the Academy, and will be able to attend any of the classes taught during the course as observers.
Orchestra and chamber ensembles
A string orchestra and several chamber ensembles will be formed. Participation in these formations is mandatory and the AIMS management, in co-operation with the teaching staff, will decide on the distribution of the places for each student. AIMS will send the scores for each components of the various formations, with the consequent obligation for each student to study them before reaching Solsona.
All students of the 2018 AIMS Academy are eligible to participate in the competition. Participants must present an original work written for solo instrument and string orchestra.
A competition/audition will be held to determine the winner, who will have the opportunity to perform a concerto accompanied by the AIMS 2018 Chamber Orchestra.
Students who wish to participate actively in the AIMS Festival concerts will need to prepare a minimum of one entire work for solo instrument (i.e. without any accompaniment). All students interested in performing in concerts must indicate the works that they wish to play on the registration form. The AIMS teacher will specify the programming of concerts during the Festival following their artistic criteria.
Minor students will be provided with a supervisor to oversee their activities. Parents must sign and return via email a consent authorization form.
AIMS has liability insurance which covers all participants, however all students must have medical insurance to cover any illness or accident.
