Nine years AIMS Festival.
We present the AIMS Festival 2010: AIMS Festival is a chamber music festival.
The AIMS Festival 2010 runs concurrently with the activities of the International Music Academy of Solsona. Twenty-one festival concerts will present treasures from the chamber music repertoire in this Central Catalonian region.
At AIMS chamber music means the expression of innermost emotions, means the essence of musical intimacy and emotional interaction with our audiences.
Our audiences often told us that our music creates goose bumps. Therefore we named the AIMS Festival 09 "Goose bumps".
This year's festival will focus on some of the greatest Russian composers: Tchaikovsky, Prokoviev, Shostakovich, Rimsky-Korsakov, Kabalevsky among others. What music!
Music which exposes the hearts of their composers, which calls us to the most explicit romanticism, which brings us all these unique feelings like a first falling in love of youth. Because of that, and for the nature of this pedagogical Festival , and because it gathers all these young performers with so many desires of feeling and expressing, we like to call this year's Festival "OPEN HEART".
With a total of 21 performances AIMS Festival will offer to you innermost emotions. 12 chamber music concerts will be held in a classical format at the theatre of Solsona, at the Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs,city of Lleida, at the theatre of Mollerussa, and for the first time at the Kursaal, city of Manresa and the Col·legiata Sant Vicenç, city of Cardona.
At AIMS Festival you have the opportunity to hear the members of the AIMS faculty in 10 concerts. Students will bring the results of their work to your ears and hearts. 14 performances by our students are waiting for you.
Since its creation the festival's goal has been to bring the results of the artistic work of AIMS close to the Catalan society. It is also the goal of AIMS Festival to give participating students the opportunity to present the results of their work in public and thereby to gain important professional performing experience.
Instead of working behind closed doors the Festival tries to let the society of the region share and enjoy with us. The interaction between the academic and concert activities and the commitment to society is what makes AIMS Festival a unique cultural offering in Spain.
AIMS Festival 2010 "OPEN HEARTS"
AIMS in concert: 12 chamber music concerts including a world premier of a composition commissioned by AIMS.
AIMS on the street: 4 outdoor concerts in the old city of Solsona.
AIMS social: 5 concerts in hospitals, homes for the elderly, centers for disabled.
